Capacity Building

Objectives

EMZ is the work package leader.

Training and Campaigning
Trainings in six sites (Copenhagen, Hannover, Istanbul, London, Rome, Tallinn) are prepared, conducted and evaluated in compliance with the consensus curriculum and with guidelines on management and evaluation.

Community group sessions are co-ordinated through each site. EMZ provides draft management tools (guidelines, contracts and forms) for this purpose, which are being adapted to the context of each of the six sites.

Mediators prepare, conduct and evaluate educational group sessions on HIV/AIDS within their specific communities (in their community’s language), they are paid a compensation for documentation of two group sessions (list of participants, photo, questionnaires and feedback).

Mediators will be instructed to preferentially aim at organising group session with individuals with lower education levels. The associated partners encourage and promote these activities by providing the necessary quantity of materials, and guidance and supervision (Jour fixe).

Improving sustainability
Certification events for mediators are be organized to provide feedback to the mediators, local platform and policy makers. Platforms will determine the potential number of community group sessions to be supported through the project in the future (target groups, settings, evaluation).

Mediators will be invited to participate in four supervision and feedback meetings after certification (months 19, 22, 26, 29). Input into the meetings will be provided by local public health experts and in a coaching by Ashoka fellows (month 23). Minutes of these meetings will be used by the partners to identify opportunities and challenges.
